Minor Changes to Emory Stay

Emory notified Franklin today that Dr. Lonial and team decided no Kepivance before transplant due to his tongue condition. The Emory schedule begins on the morning of Jan. 4 and remains the same. We still do not know if he will have Velcade before chemo or after. We will be heading up there on the afternoon of Jan. 3 to get settled before the busy day of Jan. 4th. Everything is in place to have Bobby Hall house and dog sit while we are gone and we feel very good about leaving thing in his care. Thanks for all the comments, we both enjoy reading them and are so thankful for all our friends and family and especially all the prayers going up for Franklin.

A little humor - Franklin has the best attitude about all this- In the tennis group he was known as the BIG PEACH, he now thinks OCTOPUS is more appropriate. Reason being that his hair was falling out so he had a buzz cut.
I also forgot to tell everyone that 8 million stem cells were collected. 3 is needed for a transplant and they like to have enough for 2 transplants. Great Job!!!
Happy New Year!!!

Dear Franklin and Aimee,
In each and every update you send in an e-mail or post to your Blog, y'all always Thank those who spiritually, mentally and physically make an effort to help or show support.
However, we are the ones who should offer Thanks. Thanks to y'all for being so open and informative. Thanks for letting us see perserverance defined. Thanks for teaching us the value of hope. Thanks for teaching us that faith in God is where we will find the energy it takes to participate in medical treatments. Thanks for trusting us to take care of the everyday chores and tasks that y'all don't need to worry over right now. Give us more, let us serve, accept our love, that we might grow.

Hi Ya'll,
Well, I'm finally going to get to "talk" to you on your Blog. Just got computer up and running after Dixie chewed the power cord into!
I've given myself a new mission for Franklin's Big Adventure. Lots of folks call us to check on Franklin's progress. Many of them don't have a computer, so I'm calling and reading them your postings. SO many people are very concerned and love you very much.
Talked to Jay today. Said both of you are on the prayer list at his church. Also, he says, he hopes to get a deer or two - one for ya'll and one for him!
We hope to see you before you go to the hospital, but if not, just remember we are with you always and in all ways.
Love,
Jimmy and Linda
P. S. - HAPPY NEW YEAR - and it WILL be a great one!

Dear Franklin and Aimee,
After much trying to get to your blog, we did it. After much more trying, we got a google password and figured out how to write you. We are computer illerate but are learning more every day.
Happy New Year. Our prayer for you is that this new year will give you courage and good health as you battle your cancer. We have been praying for you. We can't imagine what you have been through. After reading your blog, we know you have had courage to keep on doing all that is necessary to fight you cancer.
You have many people praying for you. We believe in the power of prayer. Our Sunday School class prays every Sunday and through the week for you. Our neighbor, Merle Freeman, is a great ambassador for you. She gave us your blog and asked that we pray for you. Now that we can get on your blog we know better how to pray.
If there is anything we can do besides pray, please let us know.
Lamar told me to sign this Brer and Carey but I posted it as Lamar and Carey. He said you called him Brer, Franklin.
Love and prayers,
Carey and Brer

Dear Franklin & Aimee,
Thank you for providing this way to keep in touch. Yesterday's devotional in The Upper Room seemed to fit your situation so well. A girl who had undergone a long ordeal with cancer treatment compared it with a recent hike across the moors in Scotland. "Walking in the driving rain I'd look ahead at the puddles forming, they looked so big that I didn't think I could get across, butI did. When I got to them there were pebbles that formed a path across. In the same way, God has put "pebbles" in place to make an impossible journey possible." When our pathway looks flooded over and it seems impossible for us to find our way to safety, God will make a path for us through the mountains and across the puddles. My prayer is that God will make this path for you all the way to full recovery.
Thinking and praying for you both,
Gayle W.

Hi Franklin, We have finally figured this thing out. You are teaching all of us how to blog. We didn't know you had to go through these treatments to learn how to become computer literate! We are keeping you and Aimee in our prayers everyday. Remember, God didn't say we would never have trials, He said He would be with us as we go through them. We too are with you. Hang in there.
