What's Up or Down?
Labs and Clinic today - White blood count at it's lowest - about 300 (normal is 11,000). Needless to say Franklin has no get up and go and no appetite. Pretty much a zombie, but that is what he is supposed to be. Counts should start rising rapidly and if all goes as planed, Wednesday will be the first day of stem cell collection. The 4 hr. procedure will be done on the 6th floor Hemapheresis area at Emory. We have toured this area and they send his blood through a machine that separates out the white, red and plasma. They keep the plasma and send the other back into his body. Medicine is truly our modern day miracles. We pray for large amounts of stem cells so collection can be as short (few days) as possible.

Hey Aimee and Franklin. Well done on the blog. It looks great and it looks like you've totally got the hang of getting your posts up here. It was a great idea to do a blog to keep everyone current on your goings on and status.
The treatments Franklin is receiving sound like science fiction. I sure hope that it all works out. I look forward to keeping up with your progress. Hopefully we'll get to see you in a few weeks.

Thanks for putting together your blog, and keeping us all posted. Franklin, good luck to you tomorrow at Emory; we'll be thinking of you. Thanks for the bag of pecans from y'all. We're baking with them today, cuz it's freezing cold outside with snow on the ground, and the girls have no school.
Aimee and Franklin, Your blog is great and a wonderful way for us to stay informed. Isn't technology great! Franklin, we hope that you will be feeling better soon. Steve and I are keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers.
